Cindy Collins the owner of Canine Care, Inc. started this wonderful service in 1979.  When Cindy was 14 years old she had a beautiful black toy poodle named “Christy”.  Christy needed her teeth cleaned so Cindy’s Mom took her in to the veterinarian to get this done.  Using their typical procedure of “chemical restraint” commonly known as anesthesia for teeth cleaning, it caused the untimely death of Cindy’s beloved companion Christy.  Absolutely devastated, Cindy began her lifetime career of pet teeth cleaning without anesthesia.

Cindy’s Mom owned a dog grooming shop and about 20 toy poodles which she showed.  Cindy started practicing cleaning the teeth of her Moms poodles.  She also started studying human dental hygiene.  Believing that since dogs and cats tolerated grooming (brushing, bathing, clipping, ear cleaning, nail clipping and more), why not teeth cleaning?  You don’t put unruly children under anesthesia to clean their teeth!  By the time she was 20 she was very skilled and knowledgeable in pet dental hygiene.  Then she started offering the service to her Mom’s grooming customers.  Virtually overnight Cindy had a thriving business of pet teeth cleaning without anesthesia, all through “word of mouth”.  Pet owners are thrilled to have an alternative to anesthesia.

Now 31 years later Cindy has a client base of over 68,000 pet owners. Her popular service is offered at more than 600 Pet Stores, Grooming Shops, Boarding Facilities, Day Care and Veterinary Hospitals in California.
