Anesthesia

Absolutely no drugs or anesthesia are used on your pet with our service!

The American Animal Hospital Assn, a very prestigious organization, performed a study titled "Complications and mortality associated with anesthesia in dogs and cats." The results revealed that 1 out of 233 dogs/cats WILL die from anesthesia, 1 out of 9 will suffer from a complication caused by the anesthesia.

Pet owners have the right to determine what level of risk is acceptable for them and their pet. There ARE risks with anesthesia. Veterinarians recommend teeth cleaning every 6 months. Simple math equals around 20 plus teeth cleaning procedures during a pet's life. Most pet owners conclude that this is unreasonable and unrealistic to do under anesthesia every time. Thus many pet owners ignore veterinary advice of regular teeth cleaning. Please be advised that some pets require anesthesia for teeth cleaning due to advanced periodontal problems requiring extractions and a deep cleaning of periodontal pockets. This type of cleaning should be followed up with our monthly maintenance program and at home teeth brushing.
